Xerox: Print Hold/Release
With print hold/release, how you print a document has not changed.
- Open your document and open the print dialog.
- Make sure your print settings (B/W, color, duplex, etc) are correct and click print.
Your print will now be sent to the printer you selected.
1. Our print management software, PaperCut, will notify you that your print is held in a queue. Your print job will be held on the printer for 30 minutes. After the 30 minutes PaperCut will notify you that you print job has been deleted from the printer. The job will not count against your balance if it is deleted.
2. Go to the printer you sent the print to and scan your ID badge. If you have not setup your card you will be asked to associate your card to your account (Setup your ID Badge instructions). After you successfully scan your ID badge, you see the PaperCut main menu.
3. On the PaperCut menu you can access your held jobs two ways.
-
- Option 1: Near the top of the screen you will see the number of print jobs pending and the total amount of pages for all of the pending print jobs. You can click the Print All button at the top right to release all your pending print jobs.
- Option 2: If you would like to see a list of your current print jobs, click the Print Release button near the center of the screen. On this screen you will be able to select individual jobs to either release to print or delete. One this screen you can also verify your print job settings. For example, the print job in the picture below is 2-sided (Duplex) and B/W. If I needed to printer in color, I can delete the print job here and it will not count against my balance. I can then resend the print job with the correct print job settings. Once everything is correct, click the checkbox to the left of the print job and then click the print button at the bottom right of the screen.
4. Once you have released your print jobs, log out of the print by clicking the logout button at the top right of the screen.
